Dr. Shankar Acharya provided a good assessment of the government at the end of one year in May 2015. He has then followed it up with an assessment now in September. Clearly, the momentum has flagged. In between, in July, he had documented the legacy issues that future governments in India face from the rule of the Congress and the UPA in particular in the last six decades and more. It is an important document in my view. I have said this before. This government has erred badly in publishing a white paper on the legacy it had inherited. In this day and age of information deluge, people’s memories are erased quickly as new data and information compete for space in the brain.
